Wonderful quirky English pub. We found a warm welcome. Our dog was spoiled with a lick mat and peanut butter, and we were welcomed to seating which gave us a better space for him. Amazing given they were busy at lunchtime. We will be back!

A beautiful unusual, quirky, unique Inn. This place was on our to visit list when we travelled down south. Outside the Inn was full of character, a boot moulded into the Inn and 2 large court shoes standing on the gravel path. Inside was just as unusual as the outside, just beautiful. We were lead to our seating area which looked like the inside of a ships cabin. The owner god bless her was warm hearted person and bent over backwards to make sure our evening wasn't boring and very entertaining waiter was friendly as well. The menu for evening meal was not too extravagant, steak and ale pie, peas and chips. The pie was delicious. Anyone travelling to the area I recommend you to pay this place a visit, its an experience.

What a marvelous quirky pub...every nook and cranny has something to see. From tiny little villages in the walls to a dragon on the roof...it's all here. Table made from an old canon, coins in the woodwork it truly is a wonderful kind of bizzare. Lovely staff who are extremely knowledgeable of the Inn. Whether you just want a drink or food aswell, all are welcome here Definitely worth taking a look if you are in the area

From the minute we walked in until the minute we left this was a truly great dining experience. We were welcomed into the Highway man and instantly made to feel at home. No rushing us to our table and were told we could have a good look around and told some of the fascinating stories behind the inn. Service was incredible and food was delicious our hosts made us feel so comfortable didn’t rush us or keep pestering us we were left to enjoy our meal. Nothing was to much trouble and it made for a great end to our family holiday before we all set off home to different parts of the country. The dog was also very welcome and was given a bowl of fresh water, a licky mat with peanut butter and a couple of treats. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to the moor. Thanks to all at The Highwayman for a truly great experience, we hope to see you again very soon

We stopped by The Highwayman Inn in Devon, often called England’s strangest pub — and it really lives up to the name. The moment you walk in, you feel like you’ve stepped into another world. Every room is packed with quirky decor, antiques, and themed spaces you won’t find anywhere else. It’s part pub, part museum, and completely unique. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and want to see something a bit different.

Really quirky place to visit, worth a stop. So much to look at and the service is very welcoming and lovely. Food was quite expensive for what it was, but worth it just to sit in the amazing dining room booths.
